Impermanence of the physical

Outdoor intervention in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

2020

Impermanence of the Physical is a collection made of 16 Prints displayed and used as a public intervention stunt in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park during the pandemic.

These works are an exploration of shape and transcendence through the examination of fossilised forms. Investigating the idea of permanence and tracing how the fossilised forms have changed through time. Relating to the impermanence of the physical. Looking at transcendence from the physical into the metaphysical.

Evolving into a deeper understanding of how fabrics and prints narrate a story through their physical being. Looking at how forms interact, change, separate, mould, connect, overlap and fade to examine how fabrics can mimic human and natural existence.

These pieces explores the trace of time, multifaceted forms and the opportunity to find freedom within the constraints of our constructs by being open. To be open to change, taking away the fear that we naturally gravitate towards and to cultivate the idea that change is not always negative but more so a constant adaption of form.

This idea brings light to understanding that no being or object or process is a separate entity, moreover it welcomes the idea of connectedness and trust in the ever evolving cycle and interconnected wed of consciousness.

Using fabric, colour, dimension and movement in the hope to project the idea that in a world where we attach so much permanence in people, objects and places which in turn can lead to a lot of anxieties and fears. That we can also live in a space of much more faith by detaching from the materiality of permanence and seeing these interchanging patterns and forms as something bright, colourful and fearless. Bringing the invisible to the visible.
